Per the article, it appears the use of contract workers is definitely on the rise. The type of engagement described would be quite beneficial to both the company and the worker (i.e. lower costs/liability and more freedom, respectively). It also gives credence to the importance of networking and companies like the Free Agent...it's very important to get out there and expand your network, especially as the U.S. moves more towards a contract based model...i.e. the gig economy is upon us!
